Recap |  Final Stats

NIU quarterback Chandler Harnish recorded his fourth 100-yard rushing day of the season and the ninth 100-yard game of his career with 104 yards on nine carries in the first half and 151 on 17 carries in the game. Harnish took sole possession of 10th place on the NIU career chart for 100-yard rushing games.

Harnish finished the game with 151 rushing yards on 17 carries to become the first NIU quarterback to go over the 1,000 yard mark in a single season since Stacey Robinson had 1,238 yards in 1990. He now has 1,022 yards on 127 carries on the season. Northern Illinois has had a player go over the 1,000-yard mark in rushing in 12 of the last 13 seasons and in each of the last three years.

Chandler Harnish threw a pair of touchdown passes to tie George Bork's career record for most touchdown passes with 60. Bork set the record during a Hall of Fame career from 1960-63.

Harnish's 79-yard connection with Akeem Daniels was the Huskies' longest of the season and his longest TD pass since the first game of his freshman season in 2008 at Minnesota, when he and Nathan Palmer hooked up on a 91-yard touchdown pass.

With 151 passing and 294 passing yards, Chandler Harnish had 445 yards of total offense in the game, the third-best single game total in NIU history. Harnish had a 465-yard game at Central Michigan earlier this season while Phil Horvath holds the record with 477 yards vs. Akron in 2005.

Harnish has 3,278 yards of total offense so far in 2011, which ranks second all-time at NIU. The record is 3,366 yards by Harnish (in 13 games) a year ago. His 327.8 yard average is on track to break George Bork's record of 294.5 yards per game.

Harnish tied Marshall Taylor (1985-88) for ninth place on the Huskies' all-time list for rushing TDs with his 22nd. He has 2,626 rushing yards and needs 101 yards to pass Stacey Robinson and become the top rushing quarterback all-time at NIU.

Northern Illinois did not give up a sack for the fifth straight game.

The Huskies scored 40 points or more for the eighth time in 10 games this season.

Northern Illinois has won 13 of their last 14 MAC regular season games.

The Huskie defense shut out a team in a half for the first time this season as Bowling Green totaled just 90 yards of offense in the second half.

Senior receiver Willie Clark caught a season-high four passes for a career-best 109 yards while tying his career high with two touchdown catches. Clark had TD catches of 56 and 37 yards. He recorded the third 100-yard receiving day by a Huskie receiver this season with all three by different receivers. Clark also surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in career receiving yards.

Harnish's 168 completions is tied for sixth on the NIU single-season list; his 2,256 yards are fifth-most in a single season at NIU and his 20 TD passes are sixth, one behind his career best 21 a year ago.

Playing in place of Martel Moore (hamstring), Anthony Johnson recorded the best game of his career with four catches for 51 yards, including a career-long 25-yard reception.
