***The NIU Huskies extended their winning streak over Mid-American Conference teams to 23 games, the longest conference winning streak in the country. Central Michigan was the last MAC team to defeat NIU (on Oct. 1, 2011 in Mt. Pleasant).
***Northern Illinois' 10-0 record marks the first time NIU has been undefeated this late in the season as an FBS program (since 1969). The 10-0 record ties the Huskies' 1963 College Division National Championship team, which finished 10-0.
***The Huskies extended their winning streak in Huskie Stadium to 25 games, the longest current streak by a team in its home stadium.
***NIU has won 22 of its last 23 games.
***Jordan Lynch finished the evening with 345 passing yards on 26 completions and 32 attempts (81.3 completion percentage), with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. The 345 passing yards are the eighth-most by an NIU quarterback in a single game, while his 26 completions are the seventh-most by a Huskie quarterback and Lynch's personal best.
***Jordan Lynch scored his 13th and 14th rushing touchdowns of the year and the 39th of his career. He has rushed for a score in seven of the Huskies' 10 games this year. Lynch has been responsible for at least one touchdown in 24 consecutive games for NIU. The 39 rushing touchdowns surpassed Stacey Robinson for the most rushing touchdowns by a Huskie quarterback. The 39 touchdowns also put him fourth among NIU's career leaders.
***With 468 yards of total offense Wednesday night on 345 passing and 123 rushing yards, Lynch tallied his third-highest total and second-highest of the season. The 468 yards ranks fifth at NIU all-time in a single game. He surpassed the 9,000-yard mark in total offense for his career with 9,229 career yards, the second-most in NIU history.
***NIU trailed at halftime for the third time this season. NIU was behind 24-20 tonight and trailed 24-17 at Iowa and 28-21 at Idaho. The Huskies outscored the Cardinals, 28-3, in the second half after trailing 24-20 after the first half.
***Wide receiver Da'Ron Brown
recorded his first career 100-yard receiving game with eight catches for 209 yards Wednesday. His 209 yards were the seventh-most by a Huskie receiver in a single game. Brown had a career-long 58-yard reception for a TD in the second quarter. Brown's 100-yard game was the second by a Huskie receiver this season. Brown's 200-yard game was the first by a Huskie receiver since Martel Moore
had 224 yards against Arkansas State. His nine touchdown catches this season ties him for the 10th-most in a single season by a Huskie receiver.
***Wide receiver Tommylee Lewis closed the night with 12 receptions for 71 yards, a new career-high in receptions. The 12 catches were also tied for the sixth-most in a game. Lewis now has 74 receptions this season for 623 yards and three touchdowns. His 74 catches are the sixth-most in a single season by an NIU receiver.
***NIU's Cameron Stingily scored his ninth rushing touchdown of the season and posted his seventh game with a rushing score.
***Jordan Lynch has now thrown a touchdown pass AND thrown for 150 or more yards in 23 straight games.
***With his 345 yards through the air, Jordan Lynch surpassed the 2,000-yard mark in passing yards for the season.
***With 345 yards passing and 123 yards rushing, Lynch had his ninth 200-yard passing and 100-yard rushing game of his career.
***Defensive end Joe Windsor had his first career interception and touchdown with a 49-yard interception return. It is the second interception for a touchdown this season - Jimmie Ward returned an interception for 62 yards against Purdue (Sept. 28) - and the Huskies 14th interception overall.
***NIU linebacker Michael Santacaterina finished the evening with 10.5 tackles, 10 unassisted, to lead Northern Illinois defensively. It is the second game this season he has recorded 10-or-more tackles in a game.
***Jordan Lynch's 468 yards of total offense is the fifth-most in a single game in NIU history. Lynch now holds four of the top six single-game performances in school history.
***With 569 total yards tonight, NIU has accumulated 500 yards or more of total offense in seven of their 10 games this season and in each of the last four contests.
***The Huskies have now won seven consecutive games broadcast on ESPN2. Both of NIU's final two regular season games (Nov. 20 at Toledo; Nov. 26 vs. Western Michigan) will be shown on that same network.
***Tonight's win is NIU's 13th-straight win in the month of November.
