Northern Illinois University has a proud of tradition sending players onto the National Football League. To qualify as a current player for the Huskies in the NFL, a player must have played in at least one regular season or postseason game. Larry English made Huskie history when he was selected 18th overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2009 NFL Draft, becoming the first NIU football player in school history to be taken in the first round. As of August 2012, a total of 10 former Huskies are currently on NFL rosters and the page will be updated periodically.
