DEKALB -Registration to Northern Illinois University's 2013 Football camps, to be held in DeKalb and Chicago this June, is now open. The 2012 Mid-American Conference champion Huskies will hold seven camps for current high school students with a variety of days, times and locations.
At the camp, NIU head coach Rod Careyand his experienced coaching staff will provide instruction in all three phases of football.
Most of the camps will be held at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb with a series of four One-Day Camps June 5, 6, 12 and 13. The One-Day Camps will run from 1-5 p.m. each day. NIU will be offering two Big Dog Camps this year. The Big Dog Camp is an offensive line vs. defensive line camp and is scheduled for June 8 and 15 and will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
For high school students in Chicago that cannot attend the camps in DeKalb, there is the Chicago Showcase, which will be held at Mt. Carmel's Gately Stadium on June 9 beginning at 2 p.m. There will also be two days for NIU's Friday Night Lights camp which will take place June 7 and 14 from 6-10 p.m.
Cost to attend any of the One-Day camps, Chicago Showcase and Friday Night Lights is $45, while the Big Dog camp is $60. Campers should bring their own helmet, shoulder pads, tennis shoes, football cleats and appropriate practice attire. Check-in will start 45 minutes before the start of camp.

This year, NIU is also holding a pair of 7-on-7 passing camps June 8 and 15. Check-in will take place in the Yordon Center from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and games will begin at 9 a.m. The camp costs $200 per team per date and a second team for the same date will be reduced to $100.
Payment must be received no later than May 24, 2013 and fees include 20 camp T-shirts and five games. Teams must have at least seven players, but 10 to 14 players are recommended. Please contact Matt Lipmanat 440-532-0094 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
