Game Time Set for NIU-Illinois Football Game

DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois' 2010 football game at Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 18 will kick off at 11 a.m. (Central Time) and be televised by the Big Ten Network, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. NIU and Illinois will meet for just the fourth time and for the first time since 2001 when the Huskies make the short trip to Champaign in September. Northern Illinois' game at Minnesota on Saturday, Sept. 25 has also been designated as a Big Ten Network game and will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (Central) while NIU's home game versus Toledo on Tuesday, Nov. 9 will be televised by ESPN2 beginning at 6 p.m. The Huskies will appear on the Big Ten Network for the fourth consecutive season and will have two games televised by the network for the second year in a row. NIU is 1-3 all-time in games televised on the Big Ten Network, including a 28-21 victory over Purdue in West Lafayette in 2009. Start times for the Huskies' remaining 2010 home games, as well as most of its league road contests, will be announced at a later date in conjunction with the Mid-American Conference television schedule. Season tickets for Northern Illinois' 2010 home games are currently on sale through the NIU Athletics Ticket Office and online at www.NIUHuskies.com. Season tickets are one of the region's best values at just $85 for all five games. NIU faculty and staff, Varsity Club (former letterwinners), NIU Alumni Association members and senior citizens can purchase season tickets for only $74. The three-game mini-plan allows fans to choose any three 2010 games, including Homecoming, to get the same reserved seat for all three games for just $50.
