DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois University football season ticket holders who wish to retain or upgrade their existing seat locations at Huskie Stadium, and reserve the guaranteed right to purchase tickets to the Huskies game at Northwestern on Sept. 6 in the NIU sections of Ryan Field, have until this Friday, May 30th, to beat the 2014 deadline.
More than 50 percent of the Huskies' 2013 season ticket holders have already "committed to NIU" for 2014, and the renewal rate ranks substantially ahead of last year at the same time. In addition, more requests for premium seat locations, including the chairback and benchback seats on the West Side of Huskie Stadium, are received daily.
Allocation of seats will begin next week, and fans who wish to guarantee their spots in the same - or better - locations for 2014 can renew through this Friday by calling 815-753-PACK (7225), in person at the NIU Convocation Center, or by going online and accessing their account at www.NIUHuskies.com/tickets.
Fans who renew this week also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the NIU-Northwestern game for $40 each, and will receive priority locations over ticket holders who make those purchases after the Friday deadline.
Friday also marks the deadline for donors to the Huskie Athletic Fund to renew their annual donation in order to receive priority in requesting their preferred parking location at Huskie Football games in 2014. Members of the NIU development staff will begin reviewing all parking requests in mid-June and Huskie Athletic Fund donors will be contacted in person during the process. For more information, visit www.HuskieAthleticFund.com.
NIU season tickets continue to rank among the best entertainment values in Chicagoland at a cost of just $110 for all five 2014 home games. Members of the NIU Alumni Association, senior citizens and NIU faculty and staff receive a $15 discount on every season ticket. Season tickets provide the best value for the best seats as single game ticket prices for 2014 in similar seating areas range from $36 to $40 per game.
NIU's 26-game home winning streak at Huskie Stadium leads the nation as the Huskies have not dropped a home game since 2009. NIU opens its 2014 campaign at home on Thursday, Aug. 28 versus Presbyterian.
