2010 MAC Media Day Live Streaming By Joe Summins | Posted at 10:35 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 2010 MAC Football Day is winding down. Coach Kill, Coffman and Spann did their video interview about half an hour ago and then went on to do a couple radio interviews. All that's left for the three men is the MAC Kickoff Luncheon. By Joe Summins | Posted at 9:50 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 Just to give everyone a quick update, the webstreaming interviews are a little behind. Coach Kill and NIU will be up in about 10 minutes. By Joe Summins | Posted at 9:41 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 Needless to say, the Huskies table on the print media side was pretty busy. John Sahly and NIU's new beat writer Jeremy Werner of the Daily Chronicle made the trek to Detroit. Kevin Allen of the USA Today, Dave Curtis of the Sporting News and Jack McCarthy, who was here cover the Huskies for the Chicago Tribune all made stops at NIU's table. By Joe Summins | Posted at 9:15 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 The Huskie trio has wrapped up the print media portion of media day and are now on the electronic media side of Ford Field, site of the 2010 MAC Football Championship and Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. I was over there a little visiting with the guys while coach Kill was on with Bill Baker and Mark Lindo and I got a little fashion education from Spann. A coach, who will remain nameless, walked by with a black suit and brown shoes. Spann just shook his head in disapproval. He failed to see the coach was wearing a blue shirt and Spann corrected his criticism.
By Joe Summins | Posted at 9:15 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 NIU's color commentator Mark Lindo just pulled coach Kill away from the print media to tape an interview with he and the voice of the Huskies, Bill Baker. Be sure to tune into 1360 AM WLBK this afternoon at 5 p.m. In addition to Kill, the Northern Illinois ISP Sports Network will be speaking with Spann and Coffman. By Joe Summins | Posted at 8:52 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 A few weeks ago, the league asked if any of our players would be interested in delivering the invocation before the luncheon today. I presented the opportunity to Chad Spann and he graciously accepted. On the ride up yesterday we were talking about what Chad was going to say, but he was still trying to formulate it. Immediately everyone's thought turned to the blessing given before dinner in the movie Christmas Vacation. In case you forgot the scene, here's the clip.
By Joe Summins | Posted at 8:24 am on Friday, July 30, 2010 Greetings from Detroit. The 2010 MAC Media Day is well underway from Ford Field. There's been a steady stream of reporters at Northern Illinois' table. NIU head coach Jerry Kill, defensive end Jake Coffman and running back Chad Spann have been fielding questions for the last 30 minutes. No doubt, many of the questions center around the Huskies' selection as the winners of the MAC West. (Check back with NIUHuskies.com later this morning for the complete release.) Coach Kill and his two players are taking a break from the media right now to tape a PSA for the MAC. You can watch the trio live at 9:40 a.m. CST by clicking here. |
