DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois' football game on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Purdue will be broadcast to a national audience on ESPN2, the Big Ten Conference and ESPN announced Monday. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. (CT) from Ross-Ade Stadium.

The contest becomes NIU's fourth guaranteed (over the air) ESPN national contest as the Huskies will be featured on ESPN2 or ESPNU on three weeknight games in November. NIU's home game versus Ball State on Wednesday, Nov. 13 will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, the Huskies' contest at Toledo one week later will air on ESPN2 and the Northern Illinois-Western Michigan game on Tuesday, Nov. 26 will be carried on ESPN2.

In addition, three more upcoming Huskie games will be televised in 2013 with NIU's game at Kent State (Oct. 5) a part of the Mid-American Conference's new agreement with Time Warner Cable Sportschannel, the NIU-Eastern Michigan game at Huskie Stadium on Oct. 26 set to air on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and the Huskies' game at UMass selected for ESPN Regional syndication.

This week's home opener versus Eastern Illinois can be seen online on ESPN3 and via the WatchESPN app on mobile devices. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. (CT). Northern Illinois (2-0) carries a 21-game win streak at Huskie Stadium into the opener, which ranks as the longest in FBS. Eastern Illinois brings one of the top offenses in the country into the game as the 3-0 Panthers are averaging 631.3 yards per game, while quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo leads the FCS with 1,281 passing yards.

Season and single game tickets for Northern Illinois' 2013 home schedule are on sale now. The Huskieland Plan, which includes a ticket to all five home games (sections A and G) and $50 in Doggie Dollars good for parking and/or concessions, is just $50. All remaining season ticket locations for the 2013 Huskie Stadium home slate are just $100 while NIU Alumni Association members, senior citizens (62+), NIU Varsity Club (former letterwinners) members and faculty and staff can see every game for just $88. The new Win-Win Ticket provides a seat for the Eastern Illinois game in a prime location of the stadium for $50. If the Huskies continue their record-setting winning streak, which currently stands at 21 games dating back to 2009, the fan will be mailed a ticket for the same seat for the second home game free of charge. Single game tickets are priced at just $15 for seating in the upper rows of sections A and G in Huskie Stadium, while seats in sections B, F and lower A and G are $24 for the general public and $18 for senior citizens (ages 62 and over) and youth (ages 3-13). Seats in section C, D and E, as well as seats on the East Side, are just $30 for the general public and $20 for senior citizens and youth. Single game tickets for the five-game home schedule can be purchased through the NIU Athletics Ticket Office in the Convocation Center, online via Ticketmaster and and on the phone by calling 815-753-PACK (7225).
