DeKALB, Ill. - Tickets remain on sale as the No. 18 NIU Huskies (7-0, 3-0 MAC) return home for just the third time this season and play their final home Saturday game of 2013 versus Eastern Michigan. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. at Huskie Stadium.
Both NIU Head Coach Rod Carey and Associate Vice-President/Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier said they hope to see the same enthusiasm and packed stands present for the Huskies' first two games. NIU recorded its first two sellouts since the 2003 season in home games versus Eastern Illinois (Sept. 21) and Akron (Oct. 12).
"I expect another sellout," Carey said Tuesday during his weekly press conference. "I'm not afraid to say that from our fans and from our community around here that we have that expectation now, that our games sell out. We have yet to play our best ball at home. It's only our third time in eight games to be at home and hopefully we have some familiarity now. We need to put our best foot forward in this game for ourselves, for this university, and for our fans. I think we're all looking forward to that."
"We are the only football team in the country with five road wins," Frazier said. "They have been road warriors and they deserve to be rewarded with a packed house at Huskie Stadium. I'm looking forward to another great game day, we really need our community and our students to be out in full force at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to support this team."
