DEKALB, Ill. - Another week, another player of the week. Northern Illinois University linebacker Jordan Delegal (Miami, Fla./Joliet JC) earned Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week Monday after blocking two punts in the Huskies' 59-21 win over Ball State.

Delegal blocked two of the Huskies' school record three blocked punts in the game. His first block came in the first quarter. With the ball snapped from the 25-yard line, Delegal got all of the ball off the foot of punter Scott Kovanda at the Ball State 15. Northern Illinois' Jimmie Ward scooped up the football and returned it for the Huskies' second touchdown of the day and a 14-0 early lead.

His second punt block occurred in the third quarter and set up a Huskie field goal. He smothered the ball off of Kovanda's foot at the Ball State 28. Delegal now has three career blocked punts. In addition, at linebacker, Delegal made five tackles and recovered a fumble.

Delegal's selection is the ninth straight MAC West POTW for the Huskies this season, dating back to the Illinois game. Quarterback Chandler Harnish earned MAC West Offensive Player of the Week accolades three times this season. Defenders Jake Coffman and Tyrone Clark, specialists Ward and Josh Wilber and tailback Chad Spann are the other Huskies to earn weekly honors this year.

Northern Illinois returns to the field Friday, Nov. 26 when the Huskies travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to face Eastern Michigan. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and the game can be heard on the Huskies' flagship station, 1360 AM WLBK and in Chicago on The Score 670 AM as well as on WTJK ESPN 1380 AM in Janesville, Wis. which covers the Rockford market. There is no over the air television broadcast of the game, but it will be available online through the All-MACcess package at www.mac-sports.com.
