How Do I Get There?

By Air

By Bus

The HASF will be sponsoring a fan bus from DeKalb, picking up additional fans in Oakbrook, departing December 3rd and returning immediately after the game. Click HERE for the complete itinerary and order form.



A student bus will be available for $20 that will depart from the Convocation Center on Friday, Dec. 3, stop in Oakbrook to pick up additional students, and go directly to Ford Field in Detroit. The bus will return immediately following the game. To reserve a place on the bus, students must sign up at the Convocation Center Ticket Office (M-F, 9-5 PM), and show their NIU One Card.Click HERE for a complete itinerary.


Tickets are free for current NIU students. To pick up a ticket, students must go the Convocation Center Ticket Office (M-F, 9-5 PM), show their ID and receive a ticket. Each student will only be able to pick up one ticket.

Where should I stay?

The official team hotel is the Marriott Detroit at the Renaissance Center.  The MAC has established a MAC/Fan rate of $105.  Rates can be accessed by calling the hotel at 800-266-9432 and using the code "MAC" or by clicking HERE.


NIU Ticket Information

How much are tickets and where can I purchase them?

Tickets are $20 per person and are available through the NIU ticket office at (815) 752-6800 or through Ticketmaster online by clicking HERE. If you buy tickets online, your seat location will show up as general admission. The NIU Ticket Office will receive those orders from Ticketmaster and then allocate your seats based on loyalty points in the NIU sections. You will have a reserved seat in the NIU sections for the game.



Where is the NIU section?

Fans who purchase tickets through the NIU Ticket Office will be located in sections 126, 127, or 128.  Click HERE for a diagram of Ford Field.


How will actual ticket locations for NIU fans be determined/allocated? 

Of the tickets given to NIU, the HASF loyalty point system will be used to determine how the tickets are allocated to Huskie fans. For more information about the loyalty point system, click HERE.  All orders received prior to noon on Monday, Nov. 29th will be included in the first round of allocations.  


How may I pick-up tickets I purchase?

Due to the quick turnaround time with tickets, no tickets will be mailed.  Tickets may be picked up at the Convocation Center Ticket Office (open M-F 9-5) starting Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 9 AM and ending on Wednesday, Dec. 1st at 5:00 PM.  After this time, tickets may be picked up at the team hotel, the Marriott Detroit at the Renaissance Center Dec. 3rd from noon to 4 PM.  Following that, NIU's General and Player Guest Will Call will be open at Ford Field Dec. 3rd at Gate C starting at 5:30 PM.

What time do gates open to Ford Field?

Gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff.


Where do I park for the game?

A complimentary shuttle service is also being offered by the NIU Alumni Association from the Marriott Detroit at the Renaissance Center beginning at 4:00 PM and ending 6:00 PM.  It will resume immediately following the conclusion of the game and run for one hour.  Any fan wearing NIU gear will be allowed to ride the shuttle.

What items are prohibited in the stadium?

Aerosol cans
Backpacks, luggage, grocery & paper bags, duffle bags, large bags, large purses or large camera cases.  All bags must be smaller than 81/2 X 14 X 10.
Cameras with lenses longer than five inches
Coolers of any kind, including small soft pack coolers
Decals, stickers, confetti, or glitter
Electronic equipment including laptop computers, video recorders, video cameras and tripods
Food, beverages or liquids (cans, bottles or boxes)
Illegal substances
Laser pointers
Markers (permanent) and/or paint
Noisemaking devices (bells, horns, kazoos, whistles, etc...)
Objects that can be used as missiles or projectiles (sticks, bats, clubs, Frisbees, etc...)
Strollers and infant/car seats or carriers

What items are permitted after inspection:

Cameras (must comply with the camera lens limit)
Diaper bags (only if accompanied by a child)
Small bags, purses, fanny packs, camera & binocular cases must comply with the maximum size for entry, 81/2" X 14"X10"
Small radios (must be worn with an earpiece)
Signs & Clothing must comply with standards of taste and decency; no profane or offensive messages.  Signs must not block another guest's view.

Will the game be televised?

The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.  


What events are going on surrounding the MAC Championship?

The NIU Alumni Association will be sponsoring a pre-game tailgate from 4:30 - 6:30 PM in the Corner Lounge located on the second floor of Ford Field.  Tickets to the tailgate are $30 per person. To reserve your spot, click HERE or call the Alumni Association at 815-753-1452. Fans should enter Ford Field through Gate C to access the pre-game tailgate.

The NIU Alumni Association will host a post-game reception at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Light-appetizers will be provided for our Huskie faithful. More information on the post-game reception will be available soon.

Official 2010 MAC Championship gear will be available at Ford Field and also online at www.mac-sports.com.
