Doeren Discovers: Episode VI
Episode I | Episode II | Episode III | Episode IV | Episode V
Welcome to the sixth and final episode of "Doeren Discovers," this summer's weekly webisode on NIUHuskies.com.
After serenading the crowd at Wrigley, driving a car at speeds in excess of 125 mph and jumping out of a plane, NIU head football coach Dave Doeren dials it down a notch for his final adventure of "Doeren Discovers." Coach Doeren spent the afternoon at beautiful Arlington Park Racetrack to take in an afternoon of horse racing.
While this week's episode is a little more laid back than the previous five, it was just as exciting for the first-year head coach. Doeren took his hand at handicapping the ponies, toured the jockey's locker room, presented the trophy to the winning jockey and owner and toasted their victory.
Throughout Coach Doeren's adventures, he has had the opportunity to get to know the northern Illinois community. He traveled through the south and northwest suburbs, Chicago and the surrounding area of DeKalb. Hopefully you, the NIU fan, have been able to get to know him a little bit and will come out to Huskie Stadium this year to see him do what he does best — coaching the Huskies to victories.
Coach Doeren has gone to great lengths to promote the Huskies, can he count on you six times this fall? Get your season tickets now by clicking on the tickets link at the top of the page!
