BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - The Northern Illinois men's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the ORU Shootout, hosted by Oral Roberts, at The Golf Club of Oklahoma on Monday evening standing in 10th place after 36 holes of play at the par-72, 7,183-yard course.

The Huskies finished the first round with a score of 320 and sat in eighth place, but lost ground in the second round, despite improving by two strokes with a 318 for a total of 638. Texas State currently leads with a 605.

Individually, NIU has a pair of players in the top-20 in junior Jeff Dick (Sherman, Texas/Sherman) and freshman Kurtis Luedtke (Aurora, Ill./West). Through two rounds, Dick stands in a tie for tenth with a 152 (79, 73, +8) and Luedtke is in a tie for 20th with a 155 (74, 81, +11).

"Jeff Dick is in tenth-place individually, and played a very solid round this afternoon," said NIU head coach Tom Porten. "He had a chance to shoot under par in the second round and he played our best round so far. Kurtis has a head cold and got a little tired this afternoon, giving up some ground, but we have two players in the top-20, which is good."

After Dick and Luedtke, the next lowest Huskie in the standings is senior Matt Triplett (St. Charles, Ill./East), who is in a tie for 46th with a 166 (80, 86, +22). Freshman Griffin Bauman (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) ranks 51st after a 168 (87, 81, +24) and freshman Matt Gorman (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) ranks 54th with a 172 (89, 83, +28).

"We need to figure out how to do things as a team, and that has to get better in a hurry," Porten said of his Huskies who are just one stroke behind Louisiana-Monroe and two back of Centenary. "We are going to come out really energetic and ready to play tomorrow."

The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.

*Please note that in the PDF of the results Greg Bauman should actually be listed as Griffin Bauman as the stat program that is used in the tournament cannot have any edits until play is complete.
