DEKALB, Ill.- The top European-born players from the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the best U.S.-born players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) will meet at Rich Harvest Farms, the home of Huskie golf, Aug. 17-23 to compete in the 2009 Solheim Cup.

Owned by proud NIU alumni Jerry and Betty Rich, Rich Harvest Farms is located in nearby Sugar Grove, Ill. Rich Harvest Farms has evolved into one of the nation's elite private courses. Home to the 2007 NCAA Central Regional and the Chrysler All-Star Shoot-Out, Jerry Rich has etched this beautiful 18-hole course into an 1,800-acre estate which includes as active farm with horses, soybean and corn crops.

Classified as "tough but fair" by a number of active PGA professionals, RHF offers a varied terrain, with some holes modeled after links-style venue and others carved into the heavy woods surrounding the course. Green sizes range from 1,700 to 12,000 square feet, making pin-point iron play a must for scoring purposes. Named No. 46 on Golf Digest's "America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses", RHF's membership base consists of less than 50 business leaders and celebrities. Named the nation's fifth best "New Private Course" in 1999 by Golf Digest, Rich Harvest Farms routinely opens its doors for charity events such as Hook-A-Kid on Golf in Illinois, which was founded by Jerry Rich and Don Springer.
