DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois signed a pair of men's golfers to National Letters of Intent for the 2008-09 season. Max Hosking (Madison, Wisc./La Follette) and Adam Rosenthal (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) will join head coach John Cleary's squad.

"We are excited about Max and Adam joining our program," said Cleary. "They each have proven junior records and should be able to help us immediately. Both should be solid contributors to our team throughout their college careers."

Hosking is a two-time conference player of the year and won the regional championship as a senior to follow of pair of sectional qualifying seasons. As a sophomore, he was named first team all-state and was an honorable mention all-state selection during his junior year. In each of his four seasons, Hosking was his school's best scorer, averaging 71.5 as a senior, including a season-low round of 66.

Rosenthal is an all-state and two-time first team all-conference honoree. As a senior, he finished first at his conference meet while helping his team to the league championship. During his final prep campaign, Rosenthal posted a conference-best 71.4 stroke average and recorded a season-low round of 67. His aunt, Jody, was a four-time All-American golfer at the University of Tulsa, the 1986 LPGA Rookie of the Year and won the du Maurier Classic, one of the tour's major championships, in 1987.

Both Hosking and Rosenthal will be eligible to compete for NIU during the 2008 fall season.
