NORMAN, Okla. - Northern Illinois senior Andrew Frame's run at the United States Amateur Public Links Championship ended in the second round of match play Thursday as he fell to Brandon Crick of McCook, Neb., 2 & 1, in the Round of 32.

Frame once again played steady golf at the difficult Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club with 15 pars in the 17 holes played, but Crick took a 2-up lead with birdies on the third and fifth holes and never relinquished that margin. In fact, after the fifth hole, Frame and Crick matched scores hole-for-hole, as both bogeyed holes No. 8 and 12 and parred the rest. As a result, Frame was not able to cut into Crick's lead.

The Manteno, Ill. product , who was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar this week, had advanced through two rounds of stroke play and the first round of match play in his first time qualifying appearance at a USGA national event. The tournament began Monday with 156 players, 64 of whom advanced to match play. Frame shot 76-71 - 147 in the first two rounds and defeated Zahkai Brown, 2 & 1, in the first round of match play to make it to the Round of 32.

On Wednesday, Frame said his play, as well as his results, in this tournament were the best of his career to date, especially considering the magnitude of the event.

Frame's Huskie teammate, Tim Kay, also came through regional qualifying to advance to the USAPL Championship but did not make the cut to advance to match play.
