DEKALB, Ill. -- Junior Liam White (Waukegan, Ill./Carmel Catholic/Indian Hills CC) of the Northern Illinois University men’s golf team will compete in the Patriot All-America at The Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The 54-hole event will take place Sunday, December 29 through Tuesday, December 31.
Established by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and the Arizona Golf Association (AGA), the Patriot All-America is designed with the concept of having a “bowl game” experience for college All-American golfers.
White is one of 84 players invited to play in this season’s Patriot All-America. The invitation-only tournament is open to players who earned PING All-America honors in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA and NJCAA Divisions I and II. White earned All-America honors last spring while attending Indian Hills Community College.
In cooperation with the Folds of Honor Foundation, each participant in the Patriot All-America Invitational will represent a fallen service member. Every player shall receive a golf bag at the event’s opening ceremony with the name and branch of service of a fallen military member whom they shall represent. At the conclusion of the event these golf bags will be auctioned with all proceeds designated for the Folds of Honor Foundation which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. White will be representing Captain David E. Schultz of the United States Army.
White appeared in all five events for the Huskies this past fall, posting a 79.6 stroke average with his best finish, an eight-over 224, coming at the Erin Hills Invitational.
White will be paired with Tyler Christians of Grand View University and Oliver White of Allegheny College in Sunday’s first round, starting on No. 1 tee at 10:50 a.m. For more information on the event, please visit PatriotAllAmerica.com.
