Highlights from the celebration of the NIU men's soccer team's 1-0 win over Western Michigan

2013: Appeared in three matches, starting all three games. Made nine total saves, including a season-best five against Evansville (Sept. 6). Made his collegiate debut against Ohio State (Sept. 1), making two saves.

Luzzi on Herbert: "I had worked with Miles for a few years with our state and regional ODP teams, and I knew early on that he would be a goalkeeper that I would want to have in our program. He is a very well rounded goalkeeper, who also has the ability to make the big save. Miles will challenge our current goalkeepers sooner rather than later, and he is going to be a very good college goalkeeper."

High School: Helped the Wildcats to the regional semifinals during his freshman season as a goalkeeper... played only one year of high school soccer... also played varsity football in his final high school season.

Club: As a senior, played with the US Soccer Developmental Academy as a member of the Chicago Magic... during his junior year, helped Eclipse FC to the State Cup championship... three-time club captain helped his team to the Olympic Developmental Program National Championship as a sophomore... that year, Eclipse also won the State Cup, and took and international playing tour of Spain... member of the ODP Regional team his sophomore season... as a freshman, helped his team to the State Cup quarterfinals and was a member of the ODP regional player pool.

Personal: Son of Debra and Desmond Herbet... born Jan. 30, 1992... member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteered as a coach for GLSA and Eclipse soccer clubs... was a youth leader at his church... admires Tony Dungy... Majoring in Communications Media Stuides.
