DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois Athletics has partnered with WLBK-AM 1360 to broadcast a total of eight men's and women's soccer matches this fall.
The matches will also bolster an already strong line-up for Huskie All-Access, Northern Illinois' on-line multimedia channel. The new service now features 38 NIU athletic events during the fall season, and will broadcast men's and women's basketball contests in the winer.
Fans wanting to hear all the action from the pitch won't have to wait long. The first soccer broadcast is Friday, August 31, when the women's team opens its season against IUPUI.
Other women's soccer broadcasts include September 23 against St. Francis (Pa.), and Mid-American Conference matches against Kent State, Oct. 5, and Central Michigan, Oct. 26.
The men's slate starts with a September 14 broadcast of a match against UMKC as part of the NIU adidas / Baymont Inn Invitational, and also features contests against Western Illinois (Oct. 7), Northwestern (Oct. 24), and UW-Milwaukee (Nov. 6).
