DeKalb, Ill. - Number one seed and regular season league co-champion Northern Illinois will host the 2006 Mid-American Conference Men's Soccer Tournament at Huskie Soccer Field in DeKalb.  The Huskies are set to debut in semifinal action against Buffalo at 2 p.m. (CST).

In regular-season play the Huskies were edged by the Bulls 1-0 on Oct. 20 at Buffalo.  The loss broke NIU's eight game unbeaten streak; UB leads the all-times series 7-5-0.

The other MAC semifinal game will feature number two seed Akron and the tournament's lowest seed, Bowling Green.

NIU is paced offensively by a pair of Huskies.  Marcus McCarty totaled nine goals, four assists, 22 points on the year and leads the MAC in scoring at four.  While teammate Kevin Woerner recorded five assists, one goal and paces the MAC in assists at three.  

Net minder Joe Zimka has posted eight shutouts on the year for the Huskies and currently leads the nation in goals-against-average (0.19), as well as the MAC (0.25).
