2011: Roman finished his junior campaign with a 12-15 singles record and an 8-15 mark in doubles ... 11 of his singles wins came in straight sets...Recorded a four-match winning streak ... Earned his third victory in that streak with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Michael Canavan of Oklahoma Baptist (March 15) ... Earned two wins at No. 1 on Feb. 11 ... First came against Middle Tennessee State, 7-6, 7-6 and the other against Western Illinois 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.

Spring 2010: Went 11-11 in singles play and 8-13 in doubles...Posted a 6-2 mark from Feb. 28 to March 20...Had a five-match win streak from March 10-20 in doubles play while teaming with Mikhail Titov.

Prior to NIU: Signed at Northern Illinois in December 2009 ... Top-50 player nationally in Russia, capturing a total of 21 Russian singles titles ... Played in numerous tournaments across Eastern Europe the 18 months before arriving in DeKalb ... In 2008, advanced to the singles quarterfinals of the International 18 & under Championships of Kyrgyzstan ... In the ITF Junior 18 & under Championships of Turkmenistan, advanced to the singles semifinals, and recorded a second-place finish in doubles competition ... At the age of 16, was ranked as high as No. 9 in Russia ... Was a member of the "Tennis club of Yevgeny Kafelnikov."
