Huskies Go 2-0 on Day One in Florida
March 13, 2012 ORLANDO, Fla. – Northern Illinois completed day one of its spring break trip March 12 2-0, defeating North Carolina Central and Quinnipiac, 6-1. The Huskies improved to 12-5 on the season. The Huskies started the day against the Eagles, taking two of the three doubles matches for the early point. NIU dropped its match at No. 1, but went onto take Nos. 2-6 for the Huskies six points and dominated in the process. Junior Max Phillips won his match at No. 6 over Jamal Hoyte, 6-2, 6-2, and Dor Amir, Axel Lagerlof and Maksym Lagutin did not lose more than games in their two set matches. Amir and Lagerlof won, 6-2, 6-4, while Lagutin triumphed, 6-4, 6-2. Cadieux also won at No. 5 in singles, 6-4, 6-0, to win all four of his matches on the day. The Huskies played Youngstown State and Bucknell earlier in the day. Results will be released later tomorrow. DOUBLES
