DeKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois men's tennis team completed another undefeated weekend at home when it defeated Bradley (9-10)  Sunday afternoon, 4-3.  NIU is now 17-5 and 11-1 at home in 2012 with six matches remaining in the season.

"We didn't start out strong at all when we lost the doubles point," said Head Coach Patrick Fisher. "We bounced back in singles though to earn the victory though that's what counts. We need to continue to progress as a team, playing at high level for multiple days, if we want to contend for the MAC Championship."

In uncharacteristic fashion, the Huskies lost the doubles point in the match as they fell at No. 1 and No. 2 by matching 8-4 scores. Dor Amir and Axel Lagerlof at No. 1 snapped their six match winning streak.

While Roman Turtygin fell at No. 1 to Ahmed Albiter, 6-3, 6-3, Amir, Lagerlof, Makysm Bartiuk and Frederic Cadieux picked up the slack to seal the Huskies victory in the middle of the lineup. Lagerlof grinded out the win at No. 3 with a three set victory over Ashton Kalhorn, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, while the rest of the Northern Illinois victors claimed triumph in two-straight sets.

Amir's victory in singles makes him the first Huskie of the season to claim 20 wins in the spring season, two wins ahead of Lagerlof and Cadieux for spring triumphs in 2012.

Northern Illinois will return to action next weekend when it hosts Ball State April 7 and heads to Milwaukee, Wis. to take one Marquette April 8.
