DES MOINES, Iowa - Huskie Axel Lagerlof closed the Drake Invitational today for the Northern Illinois men's tennis team, finishing 1-1 and falling in the A bracket final.

"He had a great tournament and he lost to a great player," said Head Coach Patrick Fisher. "Axel had some chances to get some breaks but things just didn't happen. He has started the season 7-1 and a seven-match win streak is a great way to start the weekend."

Lagerlof opened the day with a match with Jonathan Hadash and defeated the Bulldog in close 7-6, 7-6 fashion. The Malmo, Sweden native then closed the tournament versus Anis Ghorbel of Drake and fell 6-2, 6-2. Lagerlof ended his seven-match season opening win streak.
