CLEVELAND, Ohio - As announced by the Mid-American Conference thursday afternoon, Northern Illinois junior Mikhail Titov was selected as the MAC's Men's Tennis Player of the Week. It is the first such honor of his career the second for NIU this season.

Titov finished the weekend 3-1 for Huskies, earning two wins in singles and another in doubles. He highlighted his weekend with a win at No. 5 singles against Wisconsin's Quinton Vega, 6-2, 7-5. Titov aided in NIU's clean sweep of Southern Illinois last Saturday and defeated Rafael Cuadrillero, 6-4, 6-1.

The native of Russia is 4-3 in singles for the Huskies this spring and 4-6 in doubles play. Titov missed all of last season as he sustained injury and was forced to redshirt and rehabilitate. The player of the week honor is the first of Titov's career and is Northern Illinois' second this season as Axel Lagerlof earned the recognition Feb. 22.

Northern Illinois will return to action Friday afternoon for a match against Brown, starting at 4 p.m. at Boylan Tennis Center.
