DeKALB, Ill. - The Huskies will hit the road for their last non-conference match of the year. On Tuesday, April 8, NIU will be at UIC to take on the Flames (3-8). The teams will play on the outdoor courts of UIC at 5:00 p.m.

In their last match, the Huskies beat the Ball State Cardinals, 6-1. It was the second MAC victory of the season for NIU, as the team's record now stands at 15-5 with a 2-0 MAC record.

The Huskies have beaten both Western Michigan and Ball State to begin MAC play in 2014. This marks the second season since 1974 that the Huskies have defeated both of those teams in the same season. The first one was 2012.

UIC comes into the affair against NIU having lost four straight. Head Coach Hans Neufeld is in the middle of his 12th season with the program. Neufeld graduated from NIU in 1983. He played tennis at NIU, earning All-MAC honors in 1980. Neufeld also served as an assistant coach for NIU under his brother, Carl Neufeld.

The 2014 spring season is winding down. The Huskies have just two more matches before the MAC Championships begin. The next one will be a home match against Toledo on Saturday, April 12. The two teams will face off at 1:00 p.m. on NIU's outdoor courts.
