Huskies to Host Buffalo to Finish Regular Season

DeKALB, Ill. - The Huskies' regular season will come to a close on Friday, April 18. They'll host the Buffalo Bulls (11-5, 1-1 MAC) for a match at 2:30. NIU can lock up the top seed in the MAC Championship Tournament with a win.

In their last match, the Huskies faced the Toledo Rockets at home. It was a tough match, one that ended in a 4-3 win for NIU. The win kept the Huskies undefeated in conference play at 3-0. NIU is currently the only team in the MAC to win all of its conference matches in 2014.

Dor Amir and Axel Lagerlof have been racking up victories in doubles all season. They're currently 17-2 in 2014, the best doubles record either player has produced in their career at NIU. They've been recognized by the MAC four times this season for their stellar play, winning Doubles Team of the Week frequently.

Buffalo has played many tightly contested matches this season. Of the team's 16 matches, nine have been decided by a single point. The Bulls have enjoyed these types of affairs, as they've produced an 8-1 record in such contests. The Huskies have played four such matches, going 1-3 in their tries.

The Huskies have already locked up a spot in the MAC Championship Tournament, as they currently hold the best record in the conference. With a win on Friday, they'll win the MAC and head into the tournament as the team to beat.
