DeKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois men's tennis team (14-8, 2-2 MAC) will travel to New York to close out the regular season game at Buffalo. The Huskies will take on the Bulls (9-7, 3-0 MAC) in a final showdown before the Mid-American Conference Tournament, in which NIU will be looking to clinch a berth against the Bulls.

Last weekend, the Huskies split their matches as they lost to Detroit-Mercy, 4-2, but rallied back to win at Toledo to keep their MAC Tournament hopes alive, 6-1.

Amir would take his winning streak into his singles match where he defeated Mike Basha in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Frederic Cadieux followed up, extending his undefeated streak at the No. 2 position to nine after he defeated his competition, 6-4, 6-3. The Huskies would attempt to keep up the momentum but the Titans prevailed taking the doubles point and the final three single matches.

UT swept doubles and claimed four of the first set victories in singles. The Huskies quickly regrouped and forced the Rockets lost in space. Cadieux finished off Francisco Stuardo in two sets, 7-6, 6-2, in the No.3 spot. At No.2, Amir came back from a scoreless first set defeating Grant Adams, 0-6, 6-4, 6-0.
