2013-14:Redshirted as a true freshman... Finished the year with a 24-2 record on the open tournament circuit... Won four tournament titles, in addition to placing second and third at two others... Led the Huskies with seven pins and seven major decisions on the year... Claimed top honors at the MSU Open (11/9) with a 5-0 record, including two pins and a technical fall... Went 4-0 at the EMU Open (11/16) to claim first place at 133... Tallied two major decisions, a tech fall and a pin en route to a first-place finish at the Flash Flanagan Open (1/11)... Earned a first-place finish at the University of Dubuque Open (2/15) with a 3-0 record... Advanced to the finals of the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open (11/3) before falling to Missouri's Matt Manley in the finals... Took third place at the Grand View Open (1/25), losing only to teammate Derek Elmore.
High School:Three-time all-state and all-conference honoree at Harlem High School... Qualified for the state championship match each of the last three seasons... Won conference, regional and sectional titles during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons... Two-time team captain... Ended his career with the Huskies by taking second at 126 pounds in 2013... Won the NIC-10, regional and sectional titles as a senior en route to being named the team's MVP... Won the state championship at 113 pounds as a junior... Finished second at state at 106 pounds in 2011 after winning the conference, regional and sectional titles at that weight... Placed fourth at the 2011 Cadet Nationals in Fargo, N.D...
