NIU redshirt sophomore suffers losses to #8 Max Huntley, #9 Jace Bennett

2014-15:Posted a 23-13 record at 197 pounds... Earned his first career trip to the NCAA Championships, where he went 0-2... Lost in the first round of the national tournament to eighth-seeded Max Huntley of Michigan, then was defeated in the wrestlebacks by ninth-seeded Jace Bennett of Cornell... Finished in fourth place at the MAC Championships (3/7-8), scoring wins over Northern Iowa’s Basil Minto and Eastern Michigan’s Anthony Abro... Notched his only pin of the year against Binghamton’s Caleb Wallace (11/29), sticking him at 2:11... Finished in eighth place at the Midlands Championships (12/29-30) with a 3-3 record... Claimed a fifth-place finish at the Michigan State Open (11/2) with four wins... Had 18 matches against 14 different NCAA qualifiers, posting a 9-9 record... Won five matches via major decision, including four in the month of November... Opened the year with a 14-4 record... Won seven-straight matches from Nov. 29 to Dec. 29...
