DEKALB, Ill.-The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team concluded the home portion of its 2007-08 schedule falling to Ohio, 72-68, in the Convocation Center Monday night.
"This was a disappointing loss, a very disappointing loss because we had opportunities. I didn't think we started with enough energy at the beginning of the game," NIU head coach Carol Owens said. "We played in spurts and we've got to do better than that for 40 minutes. Even at the end, we missed a box out at a crucial point in the game. We needed stops and we didn't get them when we needed them."
With the loss, the Huskies are assured of the No. 4 seed in the MAC West in the 2008 Mid-American Conference Tournament and will face Kent State, Monday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. CST.
