DeKALB - The Northern Illinois Alumni Days for the Huskie men's and women's basketball teams are set for next month, welcoming former NIU basketball players back to DeKalb, head coaches Ricardo Patton and Kathi Bennett announced Monday.
The men's Alumni Day is also the Huskies' ESPNU Bracketbusters game, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. NIU alumni will face off against each other at 12:30 p.m. Gates for the alumni game open at noon, and a ticket to the Bracketbusters game is required for entrance. Former NIU men's basketball players will be honored at halftime of the 3 p.m. contest.
The Feb. 19 Alumni Day will support the Red Cross, as fans can contribute to the Red Cross Blood Drive, and $1 from every ticket sold will benefit the organization. It is also "Take A Kid to the Game Day," with a free lower bowl youth ticket coming with any adult lower bowl ticket purchase.
The women's game is scheduled for Feb. 5, when the Huskies host Akron at 3 p.m. Former Huskies will be honored at halftime of the match-up with the Zips. There will not be game between the returning alumni.
