DEKALB, Ill.--Kristin Wiener earns her first Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honor for the West Division this season after a strong week on the court for the Huskies.
Wiener averaged 24.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game in the victories over IPFW and Miami (OH). She scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Huskies 77-55 win over IPFW. It was her fifth double-double of the season.
She was a rebound away from her sixth double-double in Saturday's win over conference foe Miami (OH). She was the game's second-leading scorer with 21 points against the RedHawks. She is currently the Huskies second leading scorer, averaging 15.5 points a game. She leads the team in rebounding with 8.0 rebounds a game.
Wiener and the Huskies (15-6, 6-3) will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Ohio to take on Kent State (11-9, 7-2). Tip off is 6 p.m. CST.
