DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team will be looking for its first two-game sweep of an opponent this season when the Huskies play host to Toledo Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

"It's good to be playing Toledo at home," NIU head coach Carol Owens said. "You just can never expect what they do. A week and a half ago they played real well against Bowling Green. We just have to be ready for them switching up the defenses."

The Huskies (16-9, 7-6) are coming off a 73-61 loss at Central Michigan. Toledo (8-17, 4-9) comes into Wednesday night's game having lost to Eastern Michigan, 76-42. The Rockets have lost their last four road contests. The Huskies are 9-2 in the Convo this season, while the Rockets are 3-9 on the road.

"I think it's a goal that we definitely set," Owens said of winning games at home. "We want to be successful here in front of our fans."

Toledo holds an 18-12 advantage in the all-time series, however the Huskies have won the last three meetings. The last Rocket victory came Mar. 5, 2005 when Toledo defeated NIU, 76-61.

The Huskies pulled out a 65-58 victory the last time these two met. Kristin Wiener and Jessie Wilcox each posted double-doubles. Wiener, who posted her fourth double-double of the season at the time, and second in as many games, finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Wilcox posted her first double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 boards. After going 1-10 from the field in the first half, Wilcox erupted in the second half going 5-8 from the field and scoring 11 points. Her three-pointer with 4:54 left to play keyed the Huskie victory.

The Huskies two 1,000-point club members continue to add to their ledger. After starting the season No. 17 on NIU's all-time scoring list, Stephanie Raymond is now seventh on the list with 1,602 points. She needs 37 points to move past assistant coach E.C. Hill for sixth. Wiener has 1,129 career points and 582 career rebounds. She is the 16th Huskies to achieve both milestones. She's No. 18 on the all-time scoring list, 13 points away from No. 17.

Wednesday night is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. All members of the NIU faculty or staff will be provided two complimentary tickets to the game.
