Northern Illinois University's head women's basketball coach Carol Owens and several current and former members of the NIU women's basketball team will be conducting the school's first-ever post position camp starting June 27. Started by Owens at Notre Dame when she was an assistant with the Irish, this is a hands-on teaching camp. It provides a unique opportunity for players that play at the post position to get individualized teachings on skills specific to their position.

Players will be taught the techniques used by current NIU post players offensively and defensively. Instruction will be given by Owens, who is nationally recognized for her development of post players such as Ruth Riley, who now plays for the San Antonio Silver Stars, assistant coach Molly Murray, former Huskie standout Kristin Wiener and current Huskies Whitney Lowe, Aileen Rossouw, Becky Smith and Ebony Ellis.

The camp runs from Wednesday, June 27 to Friday, June 29. Registration forms can be found on the women's basketball page of www.niuhuskies.com.
