American Woman Blog Entry #2

July 18, 2008

Hello Huskie fans,

My quest continues in pursuit of the gold medal, and we are now in Washington DC. After we arrived, the team toured the national monuments in order to get a sense of what we are representing when we leave the country. Having the opportunity to represent the United States through basketball is a tremendous opportunity, and my goal is to make all of you proud of how we act and what we accomplish during the competition in Argentina.

At this point, we have 12 practices under our belt and are beginning to come together. My ultimate goal is to push this group to be their best and reach their potential. This requires hours of hard work but it will all be worth it in the end.

I truly enjoy getting to know every member of this team and appreciate their company, as I am missing my NIU team very much right now. One player in particular that keeps me company and reminds me of home is Skylar Diggins. Skylar is a rising senior from South Bend, Indiana. I have known her since she was 7 years old and it is great to see her all grown up. She, like the rest of these young ladies, will be playing basketball at a very high level in college. I am honored to have the chance to get to know them before their collegiate careers begin and will look forward to following them through the years.

That is all for now, but before I go I want to give a big shout to my girls at NIU! I miss you all very much and can't wait to see you all soon.
