Huskie Basketball Game Times, Ticket Prices Set

With basketball season right around the corner, the Northern Illinois Athletics Department announced ticket price information and game times for the 2011-12 season of Huskie men’s and women’s basketball.

A number of different season ticket options are available for Huskie fans this season, including the combined men’s basketball/football or men’s basketball/women’s basketball season tickets, priced at just $91, a 58 percent discount off the price of single game tickets. Members of the general public can purchase the 16-game men’s basketball season ticket package for just $107, a 33 percent discount off the price of single game tickets. Courtside seats are also available for $400.

Fans can also purchase a five-game mini-plan, which provides tickets to any five games on the schedule, in the same reserved seat, for just $35. The “Huskie Value Pack” is also available for $30. The value pack is good for 10 general admission vouchers good for any men’s or women’s home game.

Women’s basketball season tickets are available for $62 for the general public, a savings of 48 percent off single-game ticket prices. Courtside tickets are available for $100.

First-year head coach Mark Montgomery and the NIU men’s basketball team will host 15 regular season contests, as well as one exhibition game. The first chance to see Montgomery and the Huskies will be Friday, Nov. 4 in an exhibition contest against Carthage College. The regular season home opener for the NIU men’s basketball team is slated for Monday, Nov. 14 against UW-Milwaukee.

Kathi Bennett’s NIU women’s basketball team will have 14 home regular season games, in addition to an exhibition game. The Huskies will take the floor for the first time in the 2011-12 season on Tuesday, Nov. 8 as they host Indiana Wesleyan in exhibition action. The regular season home opener will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 16, as the Huskies host Western Illinois.

Four doubleheaders highlight the home slate for the NIU men’s and women’s basketball programs this season. The first doubleheader will take place on Sunday, Nov. 20, as the NIU men play Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m., and the Huskie women host Temple at 3:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the NIU women will host UIC at 5:30 p.m., and the Huskie men entertain DePaul at 8 p.m.

A pair of Mid-American Conference doubleheaders are also on the docket on Saturday, Jan. 14 and Saturday, Jan. 28.

Weekday single games for both the NIU men’s and women’s basketball teams will begin at 7 p.m. Most weekend single games will begin at 3 p.m., however the Huskie men will host Southern Illinois at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 17, and Ball State at 7 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Single-game lower bowl reserved tickets for NIU men’s basketball home games are priced at $10; adult general admission seats in the upper bowl are just $8 with senior citizen and youth general admission tickets available for $6. General admission family packs offer four tickets for just $18, groups of 20-49 can purchase tickets for $3 each while groups of 50-or-more can purchase tickets for just $2.

Women’s basketball single-game lower bowl reserved tickets are available for just $8. Adult, upper bowl general admission seats are priced at $6 with senior citizen and youth general admission available for just $4. The general admission family pack is also available, offering fans four tickets for $12. Groups of 20-49 can purchase tickets for $3 each while groups of 50-or-more can purchase tickets for just $2.
