Kathi Bennett Press Conference (NIUTube)
DeKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University women's basketball program hosted its annual Basketball Media Day at the Convocation Center Tuesday afternoon, in conjunction with the men's program. Fourth-year Head Coach Kathi Bennett addressed the media and previewed the 2013-14 season, which gets underway Saturday at 1 p.m. with an exhibition versus Lewis University.
When previewing her team's style of play this season, Bennett said "we have to create some offense from our defense this year. We've always been a very good defensive team, but now we're a little bit smaller, a little more athletic and we're quicker. We're going to pressure the ball and try to deny a ball and just get after it in the passing lane. We're going to see if we can get some transition and some added scoring this year."
