DeKALB, Ill. -The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center when it plays host to Western Illinois Thursday night. NIU comes into Thursday's action after suffering its first loss of the season, a 64-57 decision at Chicago State.
"We've been working a lot on some things we need to do," said NIU head coach Carol Owens. "Western Illinois is a good team and has a good coach, but this game is about us and what we need to do. Because it's such a new team and a lot of new faces, learning each other and being able to execute our offense is something we're looking for in this game."
Northern Illinois (1-1) leads the all-time series with Western Illinois (1-0) with a 21-15 mark, and won the last meeting, 62-45, Dec. 7, 2006 at Convocation Center.
