Getting Rid of the Cobwebs
After one year of sitting on the sidelines, I was finally able to put on a Northern Illinois uniform, lace up the shoes, strap on the headband, and play on the Convocation Center floor in front of our loyal fans. The experience was amazing, and only the beginning of the thrilling journey that lies in front of our program this year.
Our first challenge came Tuesday in the form of an exhibition match against the Eagles of Robert Morris College. The game was a great chance for our entire team to see the manifestation of all the preseason training we have endured thus far. It was truly a collective effort on the part of my teammates and coaches, and a great opportunity to play against other players besides ourselves. Robert Morris put up a good fight for most of the game, but midway through the second-half, things really came together for us, and we went on to claim a 65-42 victory.
After only one game so far, there's not much to go on a tangent about right now, but there is plenty of great games, plays, and times that lie ahead. So join us for the ride. There will definitely be peaks, hopefully few dips, and lots of twists and turns in store. So strap your seatbelts, because the 2007-08 season for the Huskie women's basketball team will be an exhilarating venture to heights of success here at Northern Illinois.
See you at the game
