DeKALB, Ill.-- Stephanie Raymond was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the West Division after her outstanding play during the Huskies current three-game winning streak.

After scoring a modest 11 points in limited minutes in the Huskies 73-46 win over Chicago State, Raymond had an impressive weekend at the Mildred and Roger L. White Invitational at Northwestern Dec. 1-2.

Northern Illinois opened the Tourney against undefeated Cincinnati. Raymond led the way for the Huskies posting her first double-double of the season. The senior guard from Rockford, Ill. finished with 11 assists and 20 points. However, she had only one field goal in the game, a three-pointer in the first half. The rest of her points came at the free-throw line. She went 17-18 from the stripe to solidify an 81-73 Huskie win and hand Cincinnati its first loss of the season.

The following night, she put up 21 points in the Huskies 70-54 victory over Northwestern to win the tournament championship. She was named Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 20.5 points, 9.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in the tournament.

Raymond and the Huskies will be back in action Thursday when the Huskies play host to Western Illinois. Tip off is 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
