DEKALB, Ill. - Junior Kylie York (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was named MAC West Player of the Week Monday after leading the NIU women's basketball team to a 67-55 victory over the Salukis of Southern Illinois Sunday afternoon in Cardondale, Ill.

York, the first Huskies' MAC West Player of the Week honoree of the season, scored a game-high 17 points, going 5-of-7 from the field, all from beyond the three-point line, and 2-2 from the free throw line. She scored 14 of her 17 in the second half to propel to the Huskies to victory. It was her fifth straight double-digit performance of the season.

York is NIU's third-leading scorer, averaging 9.5 points a game and has made at least one three in the last five games and in 11 of NIU's 12 games this season. She scored a season- and game-high 22 points in the Huskies 85-79 victory over UIC Dec. 20, 2008.

The Huskies return to the floor Saturday when Northern Illinois plays host to Chicago State at the Convocation Center. Saturday is Huskie Pup Club Day, sponsored by Burger King. All members of the Huskie Pup Club will be welcomed to the game. The first 400 kids 12 and under will receive a yo-yo, compliments of Burger King. There will be an autograph session after the game and Pup Club members can shoot layups on the floor at the conclusion of the Huskies' game with Chicago State.
