Ashley Anast is in her third season as the graduate assistant coach for the Northern Illinois University women's golf team. Anast, a graduate of Portland State, came to NIU after spending the fall of 2007 as an assistant coach at her alma mater.

A native of Littleton, Colo., she was a three-year letterwinner for the Vikings women's golf team from 2005-07. Anast finished her senior year at Portland State with an 80.1 scoring average, the best of her career. She played 83 rounds of competitive golf during her career, which ranks seventh all-time at PSU, and her 80.31 career scoring average ranks eighth all-time.

In her three seasons at Portland State, Anast was named to the academic all-conference team in 2005 and 2006, the All-Big Sky Conference second team in 2006, and to the NGCA All-America Scholar Team in 2005. She was a member of the Vikings' 2004-05 Big Sky Conference Championship team. She was also a three-time academic all-conference selection. She scored a hole in one at the BYU Dixie Classic April 4, 2007 during her senior year.

Anast graduated from Portland State in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in public health and spanish.
