SEBRING, Fla.-The Northern Illinois University women's golf team moved up three places, tying for sixth after shooting a 331 in the final round of play at the Springlake Invitational at Springlake Golf Resort and Country Club in Sebring, Fla.

Jessica Parmenter (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) made a big move up the leaderboard Saturday, pushing into the top 10 after placing 32nd in the first round of play. Parmenter shot a final round low 76 vaulting her to a tie for seventh place. Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) and Abbie Many (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) tied for 20th after shooting a final round 83 and 84 respectively. The two finished with a two-day total 163.

"We did much better today," NIU head coach Pam Tyska said. "We played very well. We were just one shot out of fourth place. I'm very proud of Jessica. She had the low round of the day today out of the whole field."

Ashley Lods (Monticello, Ind./Twin Lakes) placed 42nd after shooting a 176 (88-88), while freshman Devon Harteneck (Lake City, Minn./Lincoln) finished in a tie for 44th after shooting 178 (84-94).

The Huskies will be back in action Monday, March 10 when NIU heads to Orlando to compete in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins College.
