Tampa, Fla. -- Northern Illinois' tandem of senior Lisa Bailey (Decatur, Ill.) and junior Abbie Many (Mount Prospect, Ill.) each picked up co-medalist honors as the duo each shot 152 to help the Huskies shave off 19 strokes from their opening day performance and finish second overall at the 21st Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate at Pebble Creek Country Club [par 72, 5,940 yards] on Friday.

Bailey carded rounds of 75-77, while Many rebounded from an opening-day round of 79 with a one-over par 73. Both Bailey and Many shared co-medalist honors with Stetson's Lauren Darnell (78-74) and Danielle Jackson (78-74). Florida Gulf Coast's Heather Hagerman rounded out the top five with a 156 (77-79).

Stetson took home the overall title with a 629, followed by NIU (633), Appalachian State (641), Florida Gulf Coast University (643), Murray State (644), Eastern Kentucky (653), FIT (661) and Western Illinois (696).

"I'm very pleased with this finish," NIU head women's golf coach Pam Tyska said. "It's really neat how things unfolded. The longer we stay, the better we play.

"We played well, we understood our mistakes from earlier in the week and we educated ourselves."

Huskie junior Anne Senn (Mount Prospect, Ill.) finished sixth overall with a 157 (82-75).  Freshman Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill.) totaled a 172 (90-82), while sophomore Nicci Schultz (Somonauk, Ill.) finished with a 177 (91-86).

NIU is off for three weeks before participating in the Illini Invitational on April 6th and 7th.
