PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team finished ninth at the Marsh Landing Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati Tuesday.

The Huskies were unable to move up the leaderboard after shooting a final round 332 for a total of 697. Stetson won the event, carding an 894, with SU's Alex Buelow winning the individual championship posting a 217.

"Our scores unfortunately went south today," said NIU head coach Pam Tyska. "Everybody found their way into trouble we hadn't seen before. We have some time between now and our next tournament to shake off the dust and get back to that nice momentum we had going into the second round here."

Junior Allie Parthie (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) finished in 18th after shooting a 232 (75-76-81), while freshman Taylor Ellett (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) posted a final round 82 to finish in 38th with a 240.

Jenny Niemiec (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) finished in 46th after shooting a 251 (84-76-91) and Kelsie Passolt (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) was in 47th with a 252. Casey LaBarbera (Marinette, Wis./Marinette), the only Huskie to improve her score in the final round of play, was in 49th after scoring a 253 (85-85-83).

Northern Illinois returns to the course April 14 when they Huskies travel to Bowling Green, Ohio for the Falcon Invitational. Tee times are set for 7 a.m. Central Time.
