Final Round Results
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team picked up two spots, shooting a final round 327 to finish seventh at the Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green Saturday.
Allie Parthie (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) moved up seven spots after trimming two strokes off her first round score of 80 to card a 158 and finish in ninth. Senior Kelsie Passolt (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) made the biggest jump of the day, climbing 15 spots to 22nd after posting a second round 80 to finish with a 163.
Jenny Niemiec (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) finished in 35th after shooting a 166 (79-87), while Katie Kuhn (Claredon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) was in 52nd after posting a 173. Freshman Taylor Ellett (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) shaved 10 strokes off her first round 94 in the final round of play, to finish with a 178.
Carissa Burdi (Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett), who is playing as an individual, shot a final round 85 to card a 174 and finish in 54th place.
Indianapolis won the event with shooting a 626, while Darin Pinnick of Indianapolis won the individual title with a 148.
"We were able to climb up the leaderboard, which was wonderful," said NIU head coach Pam Tyska. "It was nice to have Allie as our `Top Dog' again. We look forward to working on a few things to prepare for the MAC Championships."
Northern Illinois returns to the course April 27 when the Huskies travel to Fishers, Ind. to compete in the 2012 MAC Championships at Hawthornes Country Club.
