DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Cardinal Classic Sunday at The Players Club.
The Huskies trimmed seven strokes off their opening round 329 to finish with a two-round score of 651. Southern Illinois University won the tournament with a final score of 604, while the host Cardinals of Ball State took second with a 615.
Junior Allie Parthie (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) posted her second top-10 finish of the season, placing fifth after scoring a 151. "We shaved seven strokes off our score from Saturday, mostly thanks to the efforts of Allie Parthie," said NIU head coach Pam Tyska. "She had three three punts otherwise she would have finished under par. We are really pleased with that."
