NASHPORT, Ohio. - The Northern Illinois University women's golf team is in 10th after the first round of play at The 2012 Preview at Longaberger Golf Club Monday.

The Huskies carded a 329 in windy and rainy conditions and trail leader Akron by 15 strokes. Northern Illinois is one of eight MAC schools that are getting a preview of the course which will host the 2013 MAC Championship April 26th. NIU is tied with Ohio, while Bowling Green and Ball State are tied for second. Eastern Michigan and Toledo are tied for fifth with a 321 and Western Michigan is ninth after scoring a 326.

"She did well," NIU head coach Kim Kester said of Parthie's performance. "With her not hitting for two weeks, she did extremely well. She got up when she needed to. For her, it was her short game and she kept the ball in play."
