NASHPORT, Ohio - The Northern Illinois women's golf team outlasted Bowling Green to finish in eighth at the Mid-American Conference Fall Preview, Tuesday, at Longaberger Golf Club.

Michelle Caporusso was the top Huskie finisher in the event. Caporusso shot 77-85 to finish in a tie for 15th place. Overall, NIU cut three strokes from its first round score to card a 673 over two rounds (338-335). The Huskies were tied with Bowling Green heading into the day's round, but outshot the Falcons by two strokes.

The MAC Fall Preview is annually played at the same course as the spring's MAC Championships. Tyska looks for her team to learn from this experience and take the improvement into the spring.

"We will take the experience today and its lessons as we move forward into our offseason," NIU head coach Pam Tyska said. "We cut some strokes off of our overall score, but we still need to find some more consistency."

Three Huskies cut their scores from day one to day two. Kelsie Passolt placed 31st after shaving two strokes from her opening round 84 to card an 82. Allie Parthie showed the most improvement, holing her way to a 10-shot improvement, from 89 to 79, and finishing in a tie for 34th. Kim Bailey also cut strokes, going from an opening round 96 to a 91 in Tuesday's action. Bailey placed tied for 59th. Katie Kuhn shot one stroke more on day two, scoring 88-89 to tie for 49th.

Playing as an individual, Carissa Burdi tied for 55th with rounds of 87-94.

The Huskies will adjourn for the winter before picking up play once again in the spring.
